Opening up for affiliates - and a little backstory

It’s been almost 16 years now since I became self-employed. There has been ups and downs along the way sure, but I always knew my path was to be self-employed. In 2017 I opened what is now known as the Snarky Siren. We started back then with simple oyster opening shows. I would open pearl oysters live to reveal the pearl or pearls inside. We would mount them or place them in a pearl cage for you. Once I started getting too many oysters in, my allergy to them became unmanageable. I sold out of the ones I had and decided it was time to do something different with the business. This is when we re-entered the handmade space. Over the years how we do handmade has evolved some, but the general concept is still the same. Some DIY items I’ll do videos for the blog to share how you can do them too. What I really want to do though, is be able to empower others to make a little side income for themselves. I am a firm believer in having multiple streams of income, and who couldn’t use a few extra dollars to fill up their gas tank here and there.  Soooo….

I’ve been building stock and inventory waiting for the moment to come where I could open up an affiliate program for the business. We are so close my friends! This week I have got the site set up to handle and manage it. I’m working also on all the other pieces that come with having affiliates such as: graphics, more products in the shop, photos, setting up how affiliates get their payments, and more. This is a great moment happening at the Snarky Siren! One of my biggest dreams and goals in life is to give women especially the opportunity to help provide for their families and themselves. We aren’t excluding men by any means, we would love to have any and everyone here to join us. However, it’s more often women who find themselves in situations of not having a means to support themselves by being underpaid, having to take jobs that pay less, and have more expenses to take care of their basic living needs. The goal here is to ensure that anyone who wants an opportunity can make the choice to put themselves in a better financial position.

The great thing about becoming an affiliate to a small business is that you are helping me provide for my family as you are also working to provide for yours. You aren’t padding a CEOs pocket or buying their 2-3 home.
another great thing about becoming an affiliate in general is that you don’t have to stock the inventory to make the merchandise, you don’t have to house the inventory, you simply share your link to the website, and make a commission when people purchase with your link.
Starting out you will make 15%. The more sales you get I will be able to give you a pay raise as well. That is part of the program I am developing now. As an added bonus when you share your link your friends can also get 10% off their orders! And yes, you can use your link to make purchases and get 10% off and your 15% commission as well! So, it’s a double win for you!

Now, I’m curious, what do you think? Would you join me as an affiliate of the Snarky Siren handmade giftshop?
